Operating Hours and Curfews
Operational Hours at Paro International Airport are from Sunrise to Sunset. Please contact ground handler before the flight for airport operational hours.
Please note Paro airport is Category C. Day VFR operations are only allowed.
Permits and Parking Slots
Airport Slots are not required but you would need to contact the ground handler for parking availability. Tow bar should be present on board for towing.
Landing permit is required and lead time for landing permit is 10 working days. Along with the landing permit application, Crew License copies, Crew Medical Copies, First and Last page of Log book, Aircraft Documents, Local Travel Agent details should be submitted to Local Handler for Landing Permit.
The Authorities advise that all arrivals should be done before 10AM local due to wind restrictions (Strong Anabatic Winds) especially from Feb to May.
Navigator
An approved Navigator is a must for all flights into Bhutan. The ground handler or your third party provider will arrange a Navigator.
Crew Visas
Crew can get Visa on Arrival.
Customs, Immigration and Quarantine
At VQPR, customs and immigration is cleared through main terminal.
Ground Handling
The ground handler requires all information such as aircraft call sign, schedule, crew and passenger information including gender, crew airline transport pilot license, passport nos and date of births. Please check with your ground handler in advance for availability of all the required ground equipment.
